Halloo,

Hear me loud and clear dear Achievers, Entrepreneurs, and everybody who dares to dream big- DON’T GET TIRED OF PROMOTING YOUR WORK!

The way the world is right now there are too many things vying for people’s attention that you cannot afford to sit back and not fight for what you want.

Some even say they are shy or modest or very private, so they can’t come out to talk about themselves or their work. I say please change career.

The same thing I will say to anyone who doesn’t want to be labeled ‘An Attention Seeker so stayed away from using every opportunity they get to talk about their work. Oh, you are living a strange life if this is you.

My people (The Yorubas from Nigeria) say- Promotion is the medication for achieving good Sales.

Some people will forever talk, fact of life. If you are serious about your work and want it to get seen by people, you have to put your inhibition aside and do the needful.

That is why I totally believe Mark Halpern of Social Trigger when he said to spend 20% of your time creating content and use the remaining 80% to promote your contents. It may sound ridiculous but I think it makes a lot of sense in the cutthroat world we live in now.

Many amazing works are sitting somewhere not seen by relevant people because the geniuses creating these works are not savvy enough to realise you have to be proactive to get attention.

It makes my blood boil when I see people working so hard, really hard, but neglect promoting their work. Many people who will support you will do so because they see your passion. How are they to see that passion if you don’t come out and show them?

I don’t know about you but for me, my unshakeable belief is that- If you want something bad enough you will give it your all to make a success of it.

Didn’t Aristotle say- We are what we repeatedly do, Excellence, therefore, is not an act but a habit?

The fact that you come out to talk about your work does not mean you are not modest, or that you are showing off, far from it. It shows passion. enthusiasm, and total belief in your work.

If you don’t believe enough in what you do to talk confidently about it, how do you want others to buy into you, and believe you?

Of course, you are going to upset some people. My take on that is if my promoting my work disturbs you, you, obviously, are not my target market.

Don’t be shy, don’t be afraid, don’t hide behind modesty or some crazy ideology, don’t be embarrassed, and don’t worry about what some people may think. Just, don’t worry…

Stand tall and let the world see why you are unique. So what if you make mistakes? The world won’t end. You will learn and do better next time.

Give it all you got! I am rooting for you!!!
