Halloo,

Most of us go in search of miracles in expensive store-bought skincare products when confronted with a skincare problem.

We conveniently forget that there are simple things around our homes that are great and effective in solving these skincare issues.

I freely admit that many of these natural ingredients are present at home but we know very little of their work when it comes to skincare.

Well, it is my job to inform you about these amazing skincare ingredients and hope you will make use of them and save yourself the hassle of running around looking for solutions.

Let’s look at these 5 unusual ingredients that can help you with some skincare issues you may have.

Unknown to most of us Ground Coffee is widely used in many skincare products found in stores. This is because it is great for removing dead skin cells on skin.

Used Ground coffee is also a perfect non-toxic natural dye to help deepen the colour of brown hair.

You can rinse your hair with cold brewed coffee or massage coffee grounds on to your hair and scalp to help remove dead skin and maintain pH levels.

To remove dead skin cells make a Scrub by mixing Fresh Coffee Grounds with Sugar, add Camwood Powder, and Honey.

We all know that Aspirin is for fever, aches, and pains. How about for Clear Skin?

Aspirin can help you achieve clear skin, especially if you are struggling with Acne. This is particularly possible because Aspirin has moisturising qualities and anti-inflammatory properties.

Here are some things it can do for the skin:

  • Aspirin can exfoliate and dissolve dead skin
  • Aspirin can remove excess oil
  • Because of its salicylic acid it can reduce clogged pores
  • It also helps clear up redness and swelling, so those with Rosacea can get relief from it.
  • Those with Psoriasis can benefit from it too because it can help reduce itching and make their lesions thinner.
  • Scalp inflammation and dandruff can be eliminated by mixing crushed uncoated aspirin into your shampoo.

To make a Mask with Aspirin for Acne- Take 2 uncoated hard Aspirin and crush it into powder form, add Camwood Powder to it, and Honey, then add enough Rosewater to make a paste.

In recent times CBD oil (Cannabidiol Oil) is becoming very popular in treating many mood and pain problems because of its calming and therapeutic benefits. Did you know that it also contain antioxidant properties?

Lets look at what CBD Oil can do when applied on the skin:

  • CBD Oil can help reduce the effects of inflammatory skin conditions
  • Can help slow down the signs of ageing
  • It can help even out your complexion, especially if you have spots and scars.

You can simply add a few drops of CBD Oil to your beauty products or simply make one yourself. Check my homemade recipes here

You can make a simply Body Butter by melting and mixing Shea Butter, Almond Oil, A few drops of CBD Oil together.

Activated Charcoal

Activated Charcoal is known for its clarifying properties and works on all skin types. It is perfect for congested skin that is in desperate need of a thorough deep clean.

These are the things Activated Charcoal can do for your skin:

  • Activated Charcoal is great for soaking up excess oil and regulating oil production
  • It gently purify pores
  • Activated Charcoal is effective in lifting the dirt that causes blackheads

To make Activated Charcoal face Mud is simple. Just make a paste by adding Aloe Vera Juice to the Charcoal and apply to your face.

The thing about water is most of us only remember to drink it when we are thirsty. This is not healthy at all, especially for those of us with dry skin.

For your skincare products to work effectively, you have to take care of your body from the inside. Our body soaks up fluid from our blood and cells, we cannot afford to be dehydrated.

Dehydration causes skin to get dry. So while you are moisturizing outside with skincare products it is important to moisturize inside by making sure you drink lots of water.

At least 2 litres of water is recommended to be taken daily.

Is there any reason why you are still struggling with spotty face?

Let me hear you in the comment section below. Thanks.

Stay with me,

Ruka
