Halloo,

Oh, I love Istanbul. I guess because the place reminded me a lot like Lagos, Nigeria. I enjoyed my 2 weeks stay in this ancient city a lot. One of the places I visited is The Grand Bazaar.

Let me show you the pictures and videos I have of this place. Hopefully, this will prick your interest.

The burst of colours in the shops in the grand bazaar is a delight. You can buy Clothes, Shoes, Bags, Ceramics, Lamps, Nazar evil eye ornaments, Turkish tea, Spices, Kilim rugs, Scents, Gold Jewellery, Sweets, and Turkish delight.

Many of the products are made by Artisans. Also, there are imported goods and fake designer goods.

Be prepared for the heat. I am not a lover of heat, though I was born and grew up in a very hot country. But I will take the cold over heat any day. I love looking at sunshine from the comfort of a shaded place. One of the reason I love the grand bazaar.

I am fascinated by it because it is one of the major landmarks of Istanbul, and Turkey.

The Grand Bazaar in Istanbul is one of the largest and oldest covered markets in the world. It is often regarded as one of the first shopping malls in the world. It has 61 covered streets and over 4,000 shops with about 250,000 and 400,000 visitors daily. WOW!

The Grand Bazaar is opened every day except for Sundays and bank holidays. You can shop to your heart content from 9 am to 7 pm.

Getting in and getting out of the grand bazaar is quite easy from any part of Istanbul. The train system is very modern, efficient, and not expensive. You can go with Cabs too if you wish. Just watch out, some of those cab men can be quite dubious.
