Halloo,

Okay, I hold my hands up when God was distributing patience, I must have gone to the toilet.

I am a very impatient person. I used to get into lots of trouble with my parents, when I was young, because of it.

I am learning though, and with age, I am getting calmer. That is my thinking anyway. I try very hard to exercise patience especially since I know this is something I am not naturally blessed with.

Today my patience was put to the test. I am not sure how I did…. do read this and let me know what you think.

So I had a physiotherapy appointment in James Connolly Hospital early this morning, finishing there I decided to go to Blanchardstown Shopping Center to post my customers’ orders at the post office.

The queue was long as usual. I was on the queue when I started getting my usual pain, must be from the stretches at physio.

I searched in my bag for Nurofen, but I couldn’t find any. So I left the post office and hurried to Boots Pharmacy to buy some.

I was lucky, the Customer Advisor was serving one person and no one else on the queue, so I stood in the waiting area.

Suddenly this young lady came from nowhere and stood in front of me. I was surprised. I thought maybe she was with the person being served or something, but something told me she wasn’t, so I called her attention to the fact that I am on the line, she looked straight at me and mumbled something.

When the Customer being served left this lady just went to the till and the Customer Advisor started serving her.

I got really angry.

I called the attention of the Customer Advisor to the situation. They both looked surprised. When the Customer Advisor noticed I had no intention of backing down, she told the young lady to move to the side.

The customer advisor claimed she didn’t know I was there first, which was bullshit! I was right in front of her.

The annoying part of this whole episode was how the Customer Advisor kept apologizing to this lady while serving me. ‘I am sorry about this, I will soon be with you’ she kept repeating to the rude customer. Like I am some child throwing tantrum and need to be excused.

I had to tell her that I am the wronged party here. She grumbled some apologies. I left feeling very annoyed.

Is my annoyance justified?

Stay with me?
