Halloo,
Ruka’s Place- My Online Skincare Business received its very first online order this month, 5 years ago.
It was one of the proudest moments of my life.
If only the woman from the United Kingdom who placed that order knew what it meant to me and my family.
My family and I celebrated this moment. We prayed fervently for more sales and prayed so much for this kind person who placed her trust in me by buying.
It was a glorious feeling! An Affirmation! A Validation! A Confirmation!!!
This is what you get when you buy from small businesses, a silent prayer sent to you every time you buy because you are dealing with a person who is working to build a better life for his or her family not helping someone to buy another private jet or luxurious cars.
This moment went further for me because this customer wasn’t a friend or family that maybe buying just to support me. She was a total stranger.
At the beginning of my journey, there was a lot of self-doubts. My website was rubbish. I had no money to get professionals, so I had to do everything myself.
It was time-consuming and took over my life. I use to tell myself – It won’t matter once people actually buy. I wasn’t sure if they will.
So that first order was a confirmation that people can see me and they will buy! It was a great feeling. I can’t describe it in words.
Please if you have this great idea you have been nursing in your heart. Take a step today towards making it a reality. If it doesn’t work out you will come out with some valuable lessons and skills that will help you when you decide to try again.
I am no business guru, nor an expert. What I have is experience running a small online business.
I started this business about 6 years ago with nothing but my wit and my love for writing. I still have a lot to learn and a long way to go, but I like to celebrate each milestone, each achievement and other things.
It has not been easy, things go wrong, you make silly mistakes, sometimes you just want to pack up and stop. But moments like this reminds me how far I have come and gives me the courage to hang in there.
Please celebrate with me the day someone chased my doubt out and made me realize I can do this. This happened 5 years ago. It all happened when someone simply placed an order on my website.
I am also celebrating 6 years of an amazing journey into Online Natural Skincare Products Business.
I appreciate and pray for all those who stood by me on this journey. Those who buy, those who recommend me, those who share, like, comment, or interacts with my posts on Social Media.
You are all amazing people.
My heart always does a flip with joy when I get emails or private messages on social media from people who find my Homemade Skincare Recipes useful.
These little gestures are what makes it all the more satisfying for me.
