It is even harder because you can‘t see what is wrong. I know. There is no broken arms, head in bandages, swollen eyes, or legs covered in stitches for you to see and be reminded of the discomfort the person must be in. All you see is someone who looks perfectly normal but refusing to do normal things. It goes way beyond that, trust me.
Haaaa! Africans, especially Nigerians we all seem to be talking a lot about mental health and issues surrounding it but I fear that most of us are only paying lip service to this subject.
Skincare is not frivolity. It is to be taken seriously. Skincare is not just for outward appearances, but it also affects our mental health. Those who values their health and general well-being will take Skincare as part of their self-care.
I believed then that I don’t have enough knowledge in any field to talk to people about. My life is quite boring; I am an introvert. I just go to work and back home. Not much going on.
Anybody who has ever tried to write, work, or complete any project when they are extremely tired will have an idea of what I am talking about. Ability to focus will be nearly impossible, most of the words written won’t make sense. The mental function will be extremely slow. Yes, that is the life of people with fibromyalgia.
So many people are ashamed of their mental health issues that they can’t even discuss it with close friends. It is really sad. The stigma associated with mental health is still very real. What silence does is to contribute to the suffering.
Cheers to all kindred spirits who refused to conform to society definition of who they are and who they should be. You got a friend in me. I am with you. I am one of you. I am proud of my individuality.
Do what makes you really happy. Take time out to just relax. Listen to uplifting music. Dance like no man business. Draw, paint, do puzzles, play board games. Pray. Meditate. Do yoga. All I am saying is do what relaxes you. If you don’t know what you like, what better time to find out than now? Just do something for you.
To really understands how it works you have to be in the same situation or similar situation. There are days that the pain is just too much that I just stay in bed and cry. There are days that the pain is manageable and I get things done. Either way the pain is always present.
